A few months ago I somehow managed to pour out every drop of creative juice I have in me and ended up producing this but of course, I can’t take all the credit. This shoot was a brainchild of Julo and I. Appropriately named Bubble Pop Electric – a Gwen Stefani song reference.

After a few meetings, exchange of messages, and brainstorming on concepts this is what we ended up with. Inspired mainly by the quirkiness of Poppy Lissiman‘s design aesthetic and accessories (featured below).

I feel like I say this way too often about my shoots – probably because I’m always, truly excited about seeing the outcome – but I’ve never been more excited about seeing our ideas take life in the form of a cinemagraph. For damn sure this time.

Cinemagraphs, by definition, are a marriage between a photo and a video, a GIF but not quite, and with an isolated movement on loop endlessly and it was my first time to shoot some as well. I find it quite fascinating how they can make a photograph look alive with simple movement. I’ve stumbled upon these years ago on Tumblr but it was just recently that I became completely enamored by them again. This is probably as close as I can get to making Hogwarts magic a reality.

Piertotum Locomotor!

I’d also like to thank you guys for sticking around and supporting me. Producing creative content ignites my fire incredibly and there is never a time that I’m not ecstatic about creating things like this. No, really. I tend to embarrassingly squeal out of excitement on set. I may not update regularly (I’m working on it!) but I always strive to come up with something new and fresh for your eyeballs to hopefully enjoy and not rinse with chlorine. How am I doing so far?
