Lies in 1887 – Sartorialust

I’ve spent a good 3 years in fashion school which is enough for me to experience the woes of being a fashion designer. It’s no secret that behind all the glitz and glam of beautiful garments is a designer who’s hard at work and has experienced one too many pin pricks.

I know firsthand how much blood, sweat, and tears one will shed prior to finishing a collection which is why I have so much appreciation for the craftsmanship and praise for those who flawlessly execute.

One of my dear friends, Renee, is currently in that grueling but gratifying journey and seen here is a product of exactly that. With a week’s notice, I flew to Singapore earlier this month for a hot minute to help her shoot two of her looks from her mini collection.

I’ve been meaning to visit Singapore and this opportunity pretty much just did it for me. It’s been a while since I last saw Renee so this trip was kind of a reunion for us as well. #longdistancefriendship

With our tiny team of three, this is what we were able to produce. The shoot process was quite painless in spite of the minor hiccups. All I can say is that there was some spontaneous location shooting, buckets of sweat, and tree trunk climbing that were involved.

No humans were harmed in the making of this shoot.
