Skincare is an integral part of my daily routine and even if it involves a couple of steps to complete the whole regimen, I don’t mind doing it, in fact I love it, because it feels therapeutic and is a relaxing way to end my day.
My last skincare routine post was from 3 years ago and it’s high time I update you guys on my current regimen because it has definitely changed drastically.
If I’m wearing make-up, this would have to be the first step of my skincare routine otherwise I go straight to cleansing my face. I fell in love with micellar waters in the latter part of 2016 and I can’t believe I got into it so late but as they say, better late than never.
They’re great at taking off my make-up (even water-proof mascara) and it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling after. I just put a generous amount on a cotton round and wipe it all over my face until all traces of make-up are gone. There’s no need to rinse afterwards but I still wash my face anyway to make sure my skin is 100% clean.
I previously used coconut oil as a make-up remover but I absolutely hated the greasy feeling. Ever since I made the switch, there’s no turning back now.
Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel
To wash my face, I use this non-foaming cleansing gel from Mario Badescu. Not entirely sure how I feel about this product but it does get the job done of my cleansing my face and doesn’t dry up my skin. I also love that it’s non-foaming.
According to their website this is their best-selling cleanser so I decided to try it out. I feel this is great for those with sensitive skin since it’s really gentle but I’ll probably go out and try other cleansers once I finish this one.
A new favourite. I picked this up in Target when I was in Palm Springs last January and I instantly fell in love. I use this daily, in the evening. It smells insanely good, makes my skin glow and removes remaining traces of dirt that my cleanser wasn’t able to get rid of. I have nothing but love for this toner.
My no. 1 favourite out of all the Supers. It has a watery consistency and is the lightest of the three which makes it absorb quickly into the skin. I only use this at night and I always end up with glowing skin the next day.
Glossier Super Bounce Serum
I mostly use this one when I’m travelling to a country with colder climate or in the plane (yay for travel size). It’s great at leaving my skin moisturized especially in such drying/dehydrating situations.
Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream
Another product I’m not sure how I feel about. I’m currently on the hunt for a good eye cream that will brighten/get rid of my dark circles and fine lines. This definitely didn’t do it for me but then again, it didn’t claim to do that either.
It’s mostly aimed to moisturize the under-eye area and it does an ok job at doing that. I just hate how it doesn’t seem to easily sink into the skin when I apply it. I use this twice a day, AM and PM. I like using this under make-up because it helps prevent my concealer from creasing brought about by my fine lines (thanks to constantly rubbing my eyes).
Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich
Prior to purchasing this on the day of its launch, I didn’t really have a proper moisturizer. I relied on my Super Bounce serum and Herbivore’s Phoenix Facial Oil, both of which were great but I felt like I needed something more than that and this was it. This luxurious face cream just did it for me. It smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft, and supple.
I use this twice a day, AM and PM. Also great to use under make-up to prep and prime your skin.
