Okay, okay. You got me. I know I haven’t been publishing a good ol’ outfit post but that changes today and it feels nice to go back to the basics. God. How long has it been? It feels like it’s been ages. I forgot what it’s like to just shoot a simple outfit and not be glammed up while clad in a designer’s clothes.

But enough about that.

Let’s shift our focus to the outfit. I know what you’re thinking, “Why the hell is she wearing a bomber jacket in this heat?” Here’s a multitude of excuses I made just to wear this bomber jacket out:

  1. It’s not yet summer which means I can still wear this jacket.
  2. People are still winter-dressing…in the other side of the world.
  3. I might end up going somewhere cold. (e.g. a mall with its A/C on blast)

Seems reasonable enough for me.

Jokes aside. But I am in love with it and would wear it at any given opportunity. I’m also obsessing over this skirt from a newly-discovered-turned-new-favourite store, ÁINE.

I’m such a sucker for independent labels lately. They have been slowly replacing my love for the usual fast fashion retailers, though they still have a space in my heart, due to the fact that they produce unique contemporary pieces compared to the fast fashion retail giants that thrive on trends.

I tend to steer clear of anything that’s on trend although admittedly they’re quite nice (they are trendy for a reason), it just turns me off when 99% of the human population starts wearing it and we all end up looking like we have a uniform of some sort.

Where’s the fun in that?
